Who we are and what this policy covers
Saminaro is a yoga studio at 242 Exhibition Street, Melbourne VIC 3000. This policy explains how we handle the personal information you give us when you book a class, buy a pass, sign up for a workshop or simply ask us a question.
We follow the Australian Privacy Principles set out in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth). If you ever want to know what we hold about you, you can ask and we will tell you.
What we collect
We keep the information that is useful for running the studio and nothing more than that.
- Your name, email address and mobile number
- Emergency contact details, so we can reach someone if you are injured in class
- Health information you choose to share, such as injuries, pregnancy or conditions that affect your practice
- Payment details processed through our booking provider. We do not store card numbers on our own systems
- Class attendance history and pass purchases
- Messages you send us by email, phone or the contact form on this site
How we use it
We use your details to confirm bookings, manage passes, take payments and let you know if a class time changes. Health information is used only to keep you safe during practice, and our teachers are trained to spot when a modification is needed.
We send occasional studio updates by email to people who have opted in. Every message has an unsubscribe link at the bottom and it works immediately.
We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information to anyone. Ever.
Sharing with third parties
A small number of service providers handle data on our behalf, including our class booking platform, our email provider and our payment processor. They can only use your information to provide that service to us.
We will also disclose information where the law requires it, or where there is a genuine risk to someone's health and safety.
Storage and security
Records are stored in access-controlled systems and cloud services hosted in Australia and the United States. Information is encrypted in transit, and access is limited to staff who need it to do their job.
We keep booking records for seven years to meet tax and insurance obligations. Health notes are deleted two years after your last visit unless you ask us to keep them longer.
Your rights and how to reach us
You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct something that is wrong, or ask us to delete it. We will respond within thirty days.
